Point and Click to Review and Assess Your Way
Faculty and assessors login to their free Chalk & Wire account to view student work that has been submitted for assessment. They see the scoring instrument right next to the student work and can add comments as each criterion is reviewed.
Anyone can be an assessor, including faculty members, instructors, internship supervisors, mentors, adjunct faculty, guest instructors and more.
Faculty and Assessors can:
- Provide timely feedback by editing and commenting on work directly in the student’s ePortfolio. Simply point, click and drag to highlight text and add comments about grammar, spelling or content, as well as to provide feedback for each specific dimension of a student performance.
- Download student artifacts, mark them up and then upload the items, including the annotation, back to the assessment.
- Assess large numbers of submissions at one time using our manual assessment feature.
- Use Chalk & Wire’s audio commenting feature, with recorded comments stored as audio files connected to specific assessment records.
- Create groups of assessors linked to specific assessment instruments and customize the protocols to fit their needs.
- Set up an assessment ‘chain’ that will automatically send the student assessment to the next link where they may receive further consideration or customized advice (seek remediation, redo and resubmit, etc.) specific to the score.
- Capture data about benchmarks outside the ePortfolio, as well as import test scores and other types of data into Chalk & Wire.
- Maintain all data in one place for easy reporting.
Take full advantage of more automated and customized methods to help students move forward, through the use of multiple commenting methods, easy tracking and reviewing of assessments, escalation of assessment and prompt and detailed feedback to the student about specific aspects of their performance.
