Chalk & Wire's ePortfolio Authoring, Assessment System and Data Analysis Tools

Chalk & Wire’s suite of tools and services gives educators the power to build systems that house authentic student work samples and assessment-related data sets. Faculty and administrators can gather relevant data and generate meaningful reports that inform teaching and learning and facilitate academic and professional growth.

What You Can Do With Chalk & Wire

Students can build electronic portfolios featuring completed assignments and their reflections, all integrated with an assessment system and linked to standards and rubrics. Students can also build as many personal and showcase portfolios as they wish, for whatever purposes they desire.

Faculty and assessors can easily evaluate students’ work submitted work and provide valuable feedback.

Administrators can easily create reports incorporating a wide variety of contexts and demographics. These reports are typically utilized for internal strategic goal setting, accreditation reports and research.

Unique Features include:

Archiving Submissions—At the moment of submission, Chalk & Wire archives all items submitted for assessment, thus creating an easily searchable record of authentic work samples. This allows administrators to conduct indefinite longitudinal studies of performance results even though students may alter or delete their portfolios, or even leave the institution.

Providing Single Sign-On—We can connect to student management systems to allow for single sign-on and other data exchanges as required (either one-time or automated.)

Free Pre-loading Services—Prior to installation, we will, upon request, pre-load any standards and learning outcomes you require to effectively build out an assessment and accreditation management system.

Ability to Create Assessment Chains—Based on protocols you can easily design, Chalk & Wire can automatically direct a student to customized next steps for review, remediation or extension activities. Chalk & Wire also allows an escalation of assessments, if desired, so that assessed items can be passed to other assessors or a group of assessors for further evaluation.
