Quick Start for New Users

Step 1.Join a department - Identifying your department first, before you create your first portfolio, will help you find the right place to upload your work. [1]
Step 2.Create a new portfolio - On the My Portfolios page, click the ‘Add New Portfolio’ link. [2]
Step 3.Name your portfolio - Give your portfolio a name that describes its purpose: for example, ‘Dance Portfolio.’ [3]
Step 4.Choose a Table of Contents - Find the ‘Table of Contents’ (TOC) that has been created for your Department - for example, ‘Entry Portfolio TOC - Education.’ [4] If you have already joined a department (see Step 1), you will see your appropriate TOC on the drop down menu of the Portfolio Setup page.
Step 5.Choose a theme - Choose a theme by clicking the theme thumbnail. You will be returned to the portfolio Edit page with the theme you have chosen and the correct TOC. [5]
Step 6.Locate the portfolio page to submit - Find the correct section of the Table of Contents where you should link the document.’ Make sure the rubric for your assignment is under the ‘Page Information’ section for that page. To view the rubrics that are attached to the page, click the Information icon on the top right navigation bar. If there is no rubric, you are on the wrong page, and you will not be able to submit the page for assessment. Once you have found the correct rubric, close the Page Information section to return to the portfolio page. [6]
Step 7.Add content to your page - Once you have found the right page, click the ‘Add Content’ link on the top navigation bar to go to the Add Paragraph page. From the Add Paragraph page you will be able add text, images, video, audio, forms, or links to other webpages in your portfolio. To link a file to the page in order to submit the page for assessment, scroll down to the ‘Artifact’ heading. [7]
Step 8.Link the file to the page - Choose a file from your Artifacts Available list. Click the transfer button [ >> ] to link the file to the page. Or click ‘Browse’ to upload a new file from your computer. [8]
Step 9.Submit your page - Back on your portfolio page, click the ‘Submit Page’ button on the top navigation bar. Choose the rubric and name of the person to submit the work to. The message will tell you that you have submitted successfully! [10]
