What a momentous occasion! This is my first blog post for Chalk & Wire. Actually, the first blog post for Chalk & Wire ever! Our social media expansion has been in the planning stage for quite some time and I’m honored to be writing the inaugural posting!

online communitySocial media, what??? For those of you totally comfortable with more conventional means of communication (e.g. speaking on the phone!), social media is the catch-all phrase for the connections we make utilizing the tools on the internet. We want to make sure that we do social media right! Doing it right means that we have taken our time to develop avenues and processes that will give you, our clients and users, the information you want in easy-to-find and easy-to-digest forms, as well as provide a platform for discussion, debating, dialogue, and analysis. The value of social media, to paraphrase Michelle Chmielewski of Synthesio, is not about what each one of us does or says, but rather what we do and say together.

You may have noticed (please say that you noticed!) our increased presence on 2 Twitter sites: @chalkandwire —corporate, and @chalksupport which links directly to our fabulous support team along with our newly launched Facebook page.

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to connect with us, for us to connect with you, and for you to connect with each other!  This blog will allow us to engage with you on a variety of topics related to educational assessment. We will not be preaching or proclaiming, but instead will be announcing, sharing, discussing, and even debating.

Our goal is that this blog will be honest, informal, easy-to-read, and occasionally humorous. So, we not only welcome, but encourage your comments, questions, and feedback. We want this blog to be what you need it to be.

Stay tuned!
