Chalk & Wire has made an unparalleled commitment to enterprise integration and interoperability. Our team works with our partners to design and support seamless and unique integrations with a variety of academic data management tools as required.

Public API

We provide full API documentation and consultation at no fee to clients who wish to automate the exchange of data with extant data sources (e.g. Banner, DataTel, PeopleSoft, SharePoint and others). Integration features include:

  • Fully programmable by the client

  • Supports importers for demographics and raw assessment data
  • SSO web services
  • Automate scoring and demographic data import/export

LMS and Third Party Tool Integration: Add a Robust Portfolio, Assessment Gathering and Analysis System to Your Learning Management and other Enterprise-wide Solutions

To facilitate the organic growth of authentic data collection while using current and familiar processes and tools, we aim to seamlessly “disappear” at the assignment level in many of the most commonly used LMS systems. We currently integrate with:

Blackboard® (up to 9.1): Single-Sign On (SSO), Building Block, transparent, integrated assessment process. Pass through to the Gradebook (coming soon).

WebCT (CE/VISTA)®: SSO, PowerLink, transparent, integrated assessment process.

Moodle®: SSO, transparent, integrated assessment process and pass through to the Moodle® Gradebook.

Moodlerooms®: Moodle 1.9 and 2.0 certified.

Sakai®: SSO, transparent, integrated assessment process and pass through to the Sakai® Gradebook.

Brainhoney® SSO, transparent, using IMS Learning Tools Integration (BasicLTI).

Turnitin®: representing the full suite of Turnitin’s assignment integration features within Chalk & Wire’s submission and assessment workflow. (Coming soon, Spring 2013)

Shibboleth®: in development for February 2013.

Interoperability

  • IMS Learning Tools Interoperability v1.0 Conformance / eP4.0
  • IMS Learning Tools Interoperability v1.1 Conformance / eP4.5
  • IMS conformance certification indicates that a product has gone through and passed testing prescribed by the IMS members in an ongoing community process. In addition, it means that the supplier has committed to working with the IMS community to actively resolve any issues that may arise. http://www.imscert.org
